"Change of Command" by Ensign T'Kang <> "Leaving?!" T'Kang bellowed loud enough for the rest of the mess hall to hear. "Jesus T'Kang, not so loud." Dean said softly while glancing around, "No wonder no one ever tells you anything in confidence." The Klingon regarded Dean for a moment before continuing. "I am sorry. I just wasn't prepared to hear that Captain Hawke was leaving. I barely have come on board and now already, the Command structure of the ship is changing." "Ah, don't worry about it my friend." Dean explained as he leaned back in his chair and reached for his mug. "Lieutenant Commander Celchu is a good man. He'll serve the Intrepid well as CO." Jack had managed to get closer to T'Kang in the last couple of days. It had started with a friendly pep talk after the Klingon just received a chewing out from assistant medical officer Jezra Donal. Unfortunately just twenty minutes after that "chin up and welcome aboard the Intrepid" meeting, Jack was given the unwanted pleasure of conducting an investigation. It was fortunate that the security officer knew Klingons. "I am sure the Commander will do a fine job." T'Kang finally replied staring at his drink. "It is of no matter I suppose. I still report to Lieutenant Hannoyh as I did before." Ensign Dean took a sip of his drink and then smiled. "That's the spirit! It probably won't be too long before Celchu is itching to take the Intrepid out of spacedock and get his first mission under his new Command out of the way." "That will be fine with me." T'Kang mumbled, "Hanging around the Starbase is for nuchpu'." The Klingon growled. "Well I don't know about that." Jack began, then noticing the time, "Jimminy!, I'm going to be late for my rounds. I gotta run T'Kang. Talk to you later?" T'Kang nodded as usual. His usual scowl returning to his face as Jack left. Taking a sip of his bloodwine, T'Kang let out a belch before reaching down to scratch an itch on his stomach and returning to his meal.
