"Researching the Mugarii and Nharak" by Lieutenant jg T'Kang Chief Engineer - USS Intrepid http://come.to/tkang.html T'Kang exited the senior staff briefing with the rest of the intrepid officers after Captain Celchu explained the current mission. At first the Klingon was annoyed at the thought of ferrying around an alien dignitary to a trade conference on Earth. He certainly didn't join Starfleet to be a taxi provider. However when he learned that the Mugarii ambassador had been attacked twice before when attempting to reach Earth, T'Kang understood that this would not be a simple transport mission. It was very probable that whoever attacked the ambassador's transport the last two times would again try to stop him by attacking the Intrepid. The Klingon's mouth grew wet with anticipation at the chance for battle. Everyone filed out of the conference room. The burly Klingon turned when he entered the bridge and made his way for the Engineering station, punching in his access code. The Klingon's actions drew the attention of Lieutenant Nal Calenzie, the ship's Chief Tactical Officer. "What are you doing there my friend. Looking up ways to improve your Bat'leth technique?" Nal teased. Many weeks earlier the Lieutenant got the better of the strong Klingon on the holodeck. T'Kang's expression soured in annoyed fashion. "No. I am searching for information on the Mugarii and the Nharak, as well as anything available on the prior two attacks against the ambassador's transports." the Klingon replied in a serious tone. "Oh I see. Doing your homework on the enemy ay?" Calenzie smiled and teased while crossing his arms. "One can never be too prepared." the Chief Engineer growled back, like a dog gnawing on a bone who didn't want to be bothered with idle chit chat. T'Kang would have been better off hanging a sign on his back with neon lights that said "bug me! bug me!" Nal smiled in his devilish, playful expression. "I thought I was the Chief Tactical Officer on board this vessel that was supposed to worry about these things T'Kang?" T'Kang stopped what he was doing and looked at Nal. "I didn't say I was worried Lieutenant. I just am." he paused and searched for the right words before continuing, "curious as to the technological capabilities of these two factions." Returning to his database scan, the Klingon added in an annoyed tone, "Perhaps if our predecessors had been as thorough, we would not be going to transport the Ambassador now." "Well, I can't fault you on wanting to know more about the Mugarii and Nharak. Too much information never harmed anyone. Let me know if you discover anything of particular interest." Lieutenant Calenzie stated. "I will do that." T'Kang replied frankly. He then stood by impatiently while the Starfleet database began searching for the requested data. <>
