"Three down, two to go" by Lieutenant jg T'Kang Chief Engineer - USS Intrepid http://come.to/tkang The glimmer of the transporter beam surrounded the away team and safely brought them all back to the Intrepid. The mission to save Lieutenant Cadan had been a success, however three crew members had also died in the rescue. T'Kang was glad that Camelia was safe, but still felt bad at the loss of his fellow crew members. The morning would need to wait for another time however, as the Intrepid was still facing three enemy Nharwek vessels. A violent explosion rocked the Intrepid as the lead Nharwek ship exploded in a brilliant warp core breach. Make that two Nharwek vessels left to fight. T'Kang took his leave of the away team and headed for main engineering. Lieutenant Salek would be needing his help in assuring the Intrepid had the power to finish off the remaining Nharwek vessels and get the Intrepid out of trouble. The doors swished open as the burly Klingon came walking into Engineering. "Lieutenant, glad to see you have returned safely." Salek noted. "Our mission was successful." T'Kang replied roughly. He didn't want to bring down the engineering team by letting them know that the First Officer and two other officers from the away team had been killed in the rescue attempt. "What is our status?" "Shields are holding. The remaining Nharwek vessels are trying to gain position on the Intrepid. They are proceeding cautiously after the sudden loss of 60 percent of their attack fleet." Salek droned on in a perfectly relaxed Vulcan monotone. The starship shook again under the fire from one of the Nharwek ships. "Their weapons do not pack a very hard punch." T'Kang noted. "The Nharwek depend on their advanced dimensional weaponry. Since Captain Celchu managed to use their ill guided weapons against their own ships, they have fallen back to using more conventional tactics and weaponry not nearly as advanced." "Then they are fools. They will not be able to defeat the Intrepid in a fair fight. Genetically enhanced or not." T'Kang barked while checking the master situation monitor. "That remains to be seen. We are approaching sector zero zero one. If the Nharwek intend to stop us from reaching Earth, they will have to do something now. That urgency could conceivably cause them to do something unexpected or rash." Salek explained. T'Kang glanced over at the Vulcan and gave it a thought. Raising the Bridge, the Chief Engineer blurted, +taps+ "T'Kang to Bridge. Be prepared for a suicide run from one or both of the Nharwek vessels. They may attempt to destroy the ship by colliding with it."
