"It's your heart that's going to be broken" by Lieutenant jg T'Kang Ast. Tactical Officer - USS Tempest http://come.to/tkang ** Sickbay ** T'Kang had made it to the Tempest's medical deck sniffling all of the way. The burly Klingon could not understand it. The Intrepid had had cats on board and they didn't seem to bother him there. It was like cat hair and dander permeated every area of this Excelsior class starship. When he finally made it into Sickbay, a handsome looking Doctor greeted him, then went back to the next room to presumably get the proper medications. T'Kang couldn't help but feel impatient having struggled with itchy skin, watery eyes and a runny nose for his entire shift. Then an odd looking elderly man kept staring at him from across the room. He had a familiar face, though wrinkled and spotted from age. He insisted he knew T'Kang, even calling out his name which he no doubt heard the Klingon tell the younger doctor Mutt. T'Kang was convinced the old man was simply demented, a common occurrence in elderly humans. He was glad Klingons had enough self respect to be killed in battle with honor. Then the old man punched T'Kang in the nose. "Mutt"ering something about payback. The man was obviously insane or simply crazy, though he did pack a wallop of a punch. Enough to draw blood from T'Kang's already irritated nose. Blood the Klingon tasted and growled like a grizzly bear. "What the hell are you doing?!!" Doctor Mutt practically screamed as he superseded his body between T'Kang and the old man who was wailing away with his fists in a crazy fashion, trying to strike at T'Kang who was a good two meters away on the opposite side of the Doctor. "Payback! Come on you lousy Ptok!! Don't let my younger self stop you! Come on you little Ferengi woman. Show me what you got!!!" the old man taunted while flailing his arms in a threatening manner. T'Kang rubbed a hand across his nose and peered at the blood before tasting it and looking at the old man with a warrior's eyes. The Klingon was three times the elderly Doctor's weight and nearly twice as thick. Though the temptation was there to grab the old man and snap his spine over his knee like a weak twig for striking him like that, there was no honor in victory where there was no possibility of defeat. "Old man, you are lo'laHbe; chetvI' chIm rur." (worthless as an empty torpedo tube) I will not dishonor my family by fighting with a worthless Hom. (weakling, runt, scrawny one)" T'Kang replied defiantly in his booming voice. "I'm not afraid of you! You hypocrite. How dare you hide behind your family name and your so called sense of honor! Why dag nabbit!!, you went and stole my girl you slimy targ!" "Calm down Senior." Doctor Mutt said urgently, "neither T'Kang nor I have any idea what you are talking about. And no matter what it is, there is certainly no need for violence! Now calm down or I'll be forced to sedate you." "Sedate me will you junior? Hah! That's gratitude for you. No respect for your elders. I was a Commodore dawg gone it! But fine. You don't want my help, then I won't offer it. It's your heart that's going to be broken after all you ignorant fool. But don't listen to me.. oh no. I'm just a crazy old man." T'Kang's expression soured more so than normal. "On that point we agree." For a moment the older Doctor Mutt relaxed against the younger Doctor Mutt's extended arm, but then the old man lunged at the Klingon again trying to grab him with bony, arthritic fingers. "Just let me at him. I can take `im, I know I can if you give me a chance.." Doctor Mutt reached around his back with his free hand and whipped out a hypo spray, then quickly pressed it against his Senior self's neck. With a hiss, the fight quickly drained out of the old man who immediately grew drowsy. "I... can whip him. I whipped lots of Klingons before in my time. I'm... not afraid of that cheating Casanova. Not afraid of him... not,... afraid..." Finally the old man went to sleep. Doctor Mutt caught him in his arms. "I'm sorry about that Lieutenant. There was no excuse for that outburst." T'Kang watched as the Doctor carried the old man over to a bio bed and placed him down. It was then that he realized why the elderly human looked familiar. He looked like a relative of Doctor Mutt, only much, much older. Possibly his father. That would make sense, since the Doctor did refer to him as "Senior". "If he can not control himself when interacting with other crew members, then he shouldn't be on board a starship such as the Tempest." T'Kang replied in his usual grumpy tone. "What is a human of this mans age doing on board a starship in the first place?" the Klingon asked.
