"New faces for T'Kang" by Sogh T'Kang First officer - IKV Jachyoj http://come.to/tkang Twelve hours had past since the death of Ra'wI' Kruge. T'Kang had done his duty and reported the murder to his superiors on Q'onos. Now al that remained was for him to wait until the Federation Medical and Science departments had concluded their examinations of Kruge's dead body to determine the details of his death. Chief Medical Officer James Wimberly, had initially begun the examination and attempted resuscitation of Kruge when the Klingon first grew ill in the conference room during Captain Mec's senior staff meeting. The attempt was unsuccessful, and now both Medical and Science were performing a full autopsy and toxicology examination of Kruge to determine what caused the death. Poison was the likely cause, but so far no toxin had been isolated yet. Lieutenant Commander Sevet, the stations logical Chief Scientist was conducting tests on blood and tissue samples to try and isolate the toxin used, if in fact the Ra'wI' was poisoned at all. So far, T'Kang had not heard anything from anyone in Starfleet giving him a status on their progress, which troubled him. As the senior ranking Klingon on D'Alaan 27 at the present time, he knew he represented the Empire in all things at the moment. The lack of communication was something he wanted to rectify right away. T'Kang decided to head for the CnC section on Red level. If no one was going to keep T'Kang and the Empire updated on what progress was being made with Kruge's autopsy, the Klingon would go and find out for himself. Exiting the lift, T'Kang walked into the CnC and could see Captain Mec, and two other Starfleet officers he didn't recognize. A Trill man and a humanoid female. Mec saw the sour expression on the warrior's face as he walked across the Command and Control center. T'Kang's brooding demeanor made Captain Mec's own mannerisms seem friendly. "You are up late this evening Mister T'Kang." Mec greeted in his quiet tone. T'Kang stopped abruptly just a few feet from where Reese, Relloren and the Captain were standing. "I have come for an update on what your people have discovered about Kruge's death." the Klingon grumbled in a not so friendly tone. He was obviously uninterested in small talk. Mec gave a gentle nod. "They are still working on it T'Kang. So far the cause of death has not been determined." T'Kang was stunned by this. He had thought that isolating the poison that had killed Kruge would be a simple matter. "You seem agitated Mister T'Kang. I assure you, Doctor Wimberly and Sevet are doing the best that they can to find out what killed your friend." Counselor Reese consoled. "Kruge was not my friend." T'Kang stated rudely. Then, realizing how that sounded, he turned and in a softer voice offered, "I only just met him this morning when I arrived at the station. But he was my commanding officer. It is my duty to see that his murderer is brought to justice." "There is nothing further we can do T'Kang." Mec stated. "It's in the hands of the medics and scientists right now. Once they know something, they will let us all know." T'Kang glanced at the Captain. "There is something I would like to ask Captain." Mec glanced at T'Kang, and without changing his expression stated, "Go ahead." "The equipment for the Klingon section of the station has not arrived yet. I contacted the Defense Force and have been informed that the Jachyoj will be arriving tomorrow with officers and supplies, but I need to gain computer access in order to link with the Klingon Defense Force database back on Q'onos. I will require the use of one of your computers." Mec looked around the CnC. "I don't know that we have a computer up and running yet capable of what you require. Everything you see here is alien technology. It's been all that Chaz can do to get things running to the degree they are now." the Captain explained. "Sir, the Yeager is parked at docking bay 3. We could use her systems to establish an uplink with the KDF databanks if T'Kang can provide the required access codes." Commander Relloren suggested. The Trill officer was taller than the Captain and Counselor, only a bit shorter than T'Kang, though probably half his mass. "That's a good idea Steven. Why don't you take T'Kang on board and see to it. If that is okay with you?" Mec asked. T'Kang nodded. "That will be satisfactory." "Well, let's go. The ship is this way T'Kang." Relloren smiled. As T'Kang and Relloren walked out of the CnC, Counselor Reese leaned over to talk to the Captain. "He sure is a grumpy person." Arianna noted. "Most Klingons are." Mec replied. Arianna shook her head. "No, I mean more than the usual grumpiness. T'Kang makes some other Klingons I've known, look downright friendly." Captain Mec just stared across the CnC with his arms folded and his typical constipated, squinting, pissed off expression he seemed to always wear on his face. "I hadn't really noticed it Counselor. . ." Arianna just did a double take and shook her head.
