"Twiddling thumbs" by Sogh T'Kang First officer - IKV Jachyoj http://come.to/tkang T'Kang sat across the conference table from Captain Mec with his arms crossed while they waited for the senior staff of station D'Alaan 27 to assemble as ordered. The ranking Klingon and representative for the Empire at this meeting, T'Kang took the opportunity that waiting had presented and glanced around the conference room. Located on Red level 5, the entire room appeared to be of new Federation construction. It could have been fork-lifted right off of any Starship in the fleet. It appeared that most of Red level 5 was of new construction. It was as if the deck was empty, and the Federation built rooms to suit, just like this conference room, in the middle of the alien space station. The table itself was long and wide. It's top was inlaid with several white panels that were illuminated slightly. The walls of the conference room were also made in the style of Starfleet. Several holo-emitters lined the smooth surfaces at regular intervals, making it no doubt possible to activate a holographic imaging system anywhere in the conference room. The latest in Starfleet technology for displaying life- like tactical maps which appear hovering in the middle of the conference table. Other more frivolous decorations included various national flags of the different Federation of Planets members. T'Kang noted that the tri-tipped Klingon symbol was also displayed on one of the flags that lined the back wall. The entire room was illuminated by the domed ceiling which was lined with artificial glow panels which cast a bright, near-natural light. T'Kang shifted in his seat and began drumming his fingers against his massive arms where they crossed. He wondered how long it would take the senior staff to arrive at this meeting Captain Mec had summoned. He was anxious to hear more about what happened with the disappearance of Doctor Smith from the station.
