"Trick or Treat" by Sogh T'Kang First officer - IKV Jachyoj http://come.to/tkang Counselor Reese had detected multiple life signs up ahead. Captain Mec had ordered T'Kang, Teril and Reese to circle around the corridor while he, Morgan and Stanton would continue ahead. The plan was to meet on the other side and confront whatever the Counselor detected on her tricorder. T'Kang pressed on in the direction Mec had ordered. Wielding his bat'leth and his sour attitude, the Klingon lead the way with Reese and Teril right behind. Each had their phasers at the ready. Coming around the bend of the dark, twisted corridors that made up D'Alaan station, T'Kang held up when he saw Captain Mec, Commander Morgan and Lieutenant Stanton standing on the opposite side of what looked like a giant pit. Approaching carefully, T'Kang, Teril and Reese stepped to the edge of the ten meter across chasm that separated the corridor. Peering down, several people could be seen sitting in the bottom of the shaft some twenty meters down. "Ahoy there." Captain Mec called down to get the people's attention. The Men and Women at the bottom of the pit glanced up and appeared to be glad that someone had happened along. "We are down here! It's good to see that you've found us Captain." "Are you all right?" Mec called down. "For the most part. Parker seems to have broken her leg from the fall into this pit however." one of the crewmen called up. Looking down the pit, T'Kang could see his three missing officers, Tumek, Roshka and Reshtarc were also in the pit. Calling down in Klingoneese he asked, "tlhIH toH?" Roshka responded, not in Klingoneese but in English, "We are fine Sogh T'Kang. But beware of the ghost of Ra'wI Kruge!" T'Kang straightened at hearing this. A disbelieving look wrinkled his face as he glanced at the Captain and the others on the other side of the chasm. "Hold tight down there. We can use the transporters on the Yeager to beam you out." Captain Mec stated, turning to Lieutenant Stanton. "Jane, can you go to the Yeager and arrange to have the transporters lock onto the missing crewmen?" "Yes sir!" the Lieutenant smiled before turning to head to the starship. While the 'spirits' rose for those that had been trapped in the pit for the last day's time, T'Kang was trying to figure out what all of this ghost non-sense what about. While looking at the ominous dark gray and black walls of the station's corridors, the Klingon was shocked to see a misty apparition appear just behind the Captain and Commander Morgan. Blinking his eyes in disbelief, T'Kang watched as it took on a ghostly form reminiscent of Ra'wI Kruge. "Ca. . . Cap. . . Captain!. . ." T'Kang pointed upward and behind Mec. Both the Commander and Captain spun around and could see the misty image of the dead Klingon floating in ghostly fashion a couple meters off the floor. He began a painful moan, like he was being tormented. It was nearly enough to make both men jump and take a step back. . . which would have landed them into the pit as well. Fortunately, Mec caught the Commander's arm and carefully they both moved to the side of the corridor. "What is it Captain?" Charles asked. "I'm not sure Commander. . ." Mec mumbled in wonder. Counselor Reese was on T'Kang's side of the pit, but she still was holding her tricorder. Adjusting it, it made it's whining sound as she scanned the Wraith. "By my best analysis I'd say it was a hologram Captain." "What? A bloody projection? That thing?!" Commander Morgan declared with a touch of annoyance in his voice. "What is this?, somebody's idea of a Halloween joke?" Captain Mec scratched his chin. "We detected several holo- emitters throughout the station. It was theorized that whoever created this space station had holographic technology, but since the main computer core wasn't on-line there was no way to confirm that." "Well, maybe the computer has come on-line by itself." Teril suggested from across the corridor. "That could be. It's definitely worth checking out." Mec acknowledged. "I do not understand." T'Kang said grumpily, gaining his comrades attention. "If the alien computer did awaken, why would it project images of a dead Klingon warrior? Why not something. . . I don't know,. . . alien?" "That is a good question T'Kang. Maybe it was programmed to project images that would be recognized by those on the station at the time." Mec suggested. Looking down the pit, T'Kang could see his fellow Klingon officers huddled together like scared children, pointing at the ghost like projection of Ra'wI Kruge. The warrior frowned. "You are afraid of a hologram projection. This is nothing more than an illusion. A trick of light and mirrors." Tumek, Roshka and Reshtarc looked at each other in bewilderment. Finally Reshtarc spoke, "Then it is not the dead spirit of Ra'wI Kruge beckoning us to follow him and avenge his death?" T'Kang's expression soured at hearing this as he looked over at the Captain. "Maybe that's the answer T'Kang. The computer is programmed to lure those on the station to pits like this throughout the station. A sort of humane trap to deal with intruders in a peaceful fashion. . ." Captain Mec suggested. "Perhaps. Once we confirm that this. . . projection, is indeed being generated by some alien computer on the station, then maybe that explanation will be adequate." T'Kang grumbled. The Captain's badge sounded. "Go ahead, Mec here Lieutenant." Stanton's voice filled the corridor over the Captain's communicator channel. "I'm on the Yeager Captain, ready to beam out the crew members in the pit." "Proceed Lieutenant. Doctor Teril is right here and standing by to look over the officers as they are beamed out." Captain Mec stated, somewhat glad they had located some of the missing crew members from the station.
