"Death of D'Alaan station, birth of a new assignment" by Sogh T'Kang First officer - IKC ro'QeH http://come.to/tkang The Jachyoj, over crowded with the many Klingon warriors and survivors from the ill fated Station D'Alaan 27, made it's way back to Q'onos as ordered by General Pi'ror. The mood on board the Klingon bird of prey was a somber one. Klingons did not like retreating from any enemy, and in this case, the massive alien creatures that invaded D'Alaan 27 were mighty monsters indeed. They fought honorably and bravely. It was ashame that when the reactor of D'Alaan 27 ruptured, the facility had to be abandoned before it's warp core breached and destroyed the entire station. There was little doubt that the Klingon High Council would look upon this chain of events as a terrible tragedy. They were likely to blame the loss of the Alien space station discovered deep in the farthest reaches of Klingon space, on HoD Aram. He being the Commanding officer of the Klingon presence on D'Alaan at the time. The only thing that seemed to comfort the Klingons was knowing they would reach Q'onos and have a chance to explain what happened several days before the USS Yeager and the Federation survivors from the Station ever reached Federation space. They would still have to travel clear across the Empire to reach their home boarders once again. That would definitely give the warriors a chance to tell the Council their side of the story long before Starfleet Command ever got wind of what transpired with their pathetic Captain John Mec and his crew of Federation slackers. . . at least those that didn't simply disappear from the station never to be heard from again. "We approach the home world my Hod." Angar reported from the navigation console. "Prepare to take us in to the square. I do not want to delay my report any longer than I have to." HoD Aram replied. It was obvious from his tone he wasn't looking forward to facing the General and telling him of the loss of D'Alaan station. He knew Pi'ror already disliked him because of his relationship to Duras. Only because the General owed his family a favor had he agreed to help the boy at all. "Yes HoD Aram. Raising tactical battle wings and engaging landing thrusters." Angar declared from his station. Within a short time the Jachyoj was on the ground on Qo'nos. T'Kang watched as HoD Aram prepared to go speak to the General. He could tell Aram was uneasy about what laid ahead for him now that D'Alaan 27 had been destroyed while under his guard. "Shall the First Officer accompany the HoD this day?" T'Kang asked. Aram glanced at T'Kang. "You would risk standing before the High Council with the Son of Duras?" "I would stand by my HoD and by the actions he took at station D'Alaan 27. There is no dishonor in that. We acted as honorable Klingons in every action." T'Kang's words seemed to put Aram at ease. It was nice to know that through all of this, there were men such as T'Kang that could see past his family's bloodline. "I would be honored to have you by my side T'Kang. Come. We will face General Pi'ror together." **** After a brief wait, the doors to General Pi'ror's office opened beckoning Aram and T'Kang inside. Pi'ror sat at his desk with his hands across his rotund belly. He looked displeased having already heard of the loss of D'Alaan station. "General Pi'ror. I have come to give you my report." Aram stated. Pi'ror glanced at T'Kang. "And why have you come before me Sogh T'Kang?" "I stand for my HoD and his actions." T'Kang stated boldly. "Yes, so I see." Pi'ror said through narrowing eyes. He then glanced at Aram once again. The young warrior stood proudly at attention. He looked like he was prepared to face a round of pain sticks by the look of how he held himself at attention. He was full of pride. A warrior in every sense of the word, regardless of the shame his father had placed on his house. "It would please me to no end to blame the loss of D'Alaan 27 station on you Aram. I'd like nothing better then to do that, and send you and your crew to Rutha Pente for the rest of your natural lives and be done with this. But the Duras family still has political clout in the High Council. There are those that think destroying D'Alaan station was a wise move, as it rids us of the Federation delegation that was assigned to study the antiquated facility." HoD Aram seemed pleased at hearing this. It sounded as if the High Council was happy to be rid of the Federation and the resulting space traffic maintaining D'Alaan station would require cutting through Klingon Space. "Be that as it may General, I take full responsibility for the loss of D'Alaan station. It's loss was a tragic mistake. However I am pleased to report that there were very few Klingon casualties as a result of the evacuation. The Aliens encountered there did manage to kill several of our warriors. But the remaining personnel were all safely evacuated on board the Jachyoj." "That must have been one crowded journey on that little bird of prey." General Pi'ror commented. "It was. But our warriors are strong. We managed." HoD Aram replied. "Well Aram, you needn't worry about the Jachyoj any longer. As of this moment you are no longer in command of that vessel. HoD K'sara will be resuming command of that ship." T'Kang glanced over at HoD Aram. It sounded as if the General was stripping the young Captain of his command. Something Aram didn't deserve having saved all of the people from D'Alaan station before it was completely and totally destroyed by it's overloading reactor system. "General, HoD Aram is a good Captain. He doesn't deserve to be stripped of his command over this incident." T'Kang objected. General Pi'ror shot T'Kang an evil look. "Do not worry T'Kang. I am not stripping Aram of his command. I have been ordered by the High Council to place him in charge of the ro'QeH, an even larger Q'Vort class Bird of Prey." T'Kang was surprised. being placed as HoD of the ro'QeH or "Fist of anger", was basically a promotion for Aram. It must have really bothered the General to give Aram even more responsibility in light of the loss of the Station. Especially since he stated he'd rather toss him in a penal colony to rot because of his father's name. Aram seemed pleased at hearing the news. "I will do my best at Captaining the ro'QeH General." "We shall see. You are to take the crew you presently have, and transport them to the ro'QeH. She is presently in orbit about Qo'nos. Have your men transport up immediately and set course to the mIch nItlhral. You will be stationed near lanjep, at the botlhlan yaH space station." The mIch nItlhral was a sector of Klingon space where both the boarders of the Romulan Star Empire and the Breen Sovereign Territories met the Klingon Empire. Roughly half way between the two was the world of lanjep, and in orbit of it, midway station, botlhlan yaH, one of the most important military bases in the entire Empire." "We are to be stationed at botlhlan yaH, to aid in patrolling Klingon space in the mIch nItlhral General?" HoD Aram asked. "That is part of your assignment. Yes. You will also be acting as honor guard to important dignitaries to the Empire when they are on lanjep. You will learn more once you arrive at botlhlan yaH. But now you must go. Since the war with the Dominion has ended, both the Romulans and the Breen have taken advantage of our lack of patrols in the mIch nItlhral. Increased Defense Force presence is required to push them back out of the boarders of Empire space." "We will serve the Empire well General. Qapla!" HoD Aram saluted with an arm across his chest. General Pi'ror nodded. "Qapla! Aram." Then both Aram and T'Kang turned and exited the General's office. HoD Aram was smiling widely. He'd just been given command of a larger, better vessel than the Jachyoj, the "Fist of anger", - the ro'QeH.
