"First battle of the ro'QeH - part II" by Sogh T'Kang First officer - IKC ro'QeH http://come.to/tkang T'Kang continued to pound his fist on the console, even as his deep, bass voice bellowed the words of an ancient warrior's battle song the bridge crew of the ro'QeH were actively singing. Checking the weapons console, T'Kang finished the last verse just in time to announce, "We are within weapons range my HoD." On the main view screen, the young HoD Aram could see the Klingon transport and the two lattice like Breen attack craft that were firing upon her and weakening her shields. "Lay in a pursuit course and ready forward disruptors. Prepare to drop the cloaking device on my command. . ." Aram ordered. Angar nodded his bald head, "Pursuit course laid in, standing by to disengage So' my HoD." T'Kang glanced up from the weapons console, his hand was perched over the fire buttons of the triangular shaped Klingon interface. "Weapons locked on the lead vessel and ready my HoD." Aram pointed, "chagh So' je qul nuH!" he ordered in Klingoneese. Angar deactivated the cloaking device, causing the ro'QeH to shimmer out of it's invisibility field, surprising the attacking Breen craft. At the same moment, Sogh T'Kang activated the ro'QeH's forward disruptors and sent several energy balls slamming into the lead Breen attack craft. The close proximity of the sneak attack coupled with the immense fire power the larger, Q'Vort class bird of prey, ro'QeH could generate overwhelmed the Breen ship. It exploded almost instantly, leaving the second ship to plot a hasty retreat. "Direct hit HoD! The lead vessel has been eliminated." T'Kang proudly informed. HoD Aram was glad their counter attack had been successful, but victory wouldn't be complete until that second Breen ship was made to pay the price for violating Empire space. "Navigator, new course. Heading 257 mark 8. I want that fleeing ship." "Executing new course and heading my HoD." Angar stated. The ro'QeH turned on her edge and swung into position on the tail of the retreating Breen vessel. "Lock weapons onto that ship T'Kang." HoD Aram ordered. T'Kang tapped the proper sequence of controls, "Weapons are locked my HoD." "qul!" Aram ordered with a clenching fist before his chest. "Firing disrupter banks. . ." T'Kang stated while carrying out the order. Like the first tiny Breen ship before it, the fleeing vessel stood no chance against the superior fire power of the ro'QeH. The disrupter blasts pummeled the Breen attack ship and cracked her in two with a fiery explosion that lit up the forward view screen as the ro'QeH flew past the wreckage of the defeated enemy's vessel. "Target has been destroyed my HoD!" Angar stated in obvious good spirits from the navigation console of the ro'QeH's bridge. "Recharge all weapons banks T'Kang. There may be additional enemy vessels lurking in the area." Aram cautioned. T'Kang nodded. He was glad that Aram, a teenaged commander, had the where-for-all to not take it for granted that because the two obvious threats had been eliminated, that all was safe. It instilled faith in the bear-like warrior that the son of Duras was more than a sniveling, spoiled brat that was given his own command at too young of an age. It showed good tactical battle sense worthy of a seasoned warrior at any age. "I will my HoD. Extending sensor sweep of the area to scan for additional hostile vessels." T'Kang responded. "Angar, take a course back to the transport vessel. They will no doubt need our assistance after the attack." HoD Aram ordered. Angar nodded with a still happy smile on his face as he reached to the center navigational dial of the bird of prey vessel. "Bringing us about and along side the transport my HoD." The ro'QeH returned to hover a few hundred meters above the Klingon diplomatic transport vessel they had just rescued from the Breen attack. It was only half as long as the ro'QeH, but still more than twice the size of the tiny attacking Breen vessels that attempted to board her. "No other vessels in the immediate area my HoD. I will continue to scan for cloaked ships." T'Kang informed. "T'Kang maj." Aram nodded giving his approval. Then turning his attentions to the navigator, Angar, he stated, "Hold us here and raise the other ship." Angar parked the controls setting the ro'QeH into a holding pattern above the transport ship, then reached across and sent out a signal hailing the other Klingon vessel. "They are responding my HoD." "On screen." Aram stated. When Angar activated the forward view screen, HoD Aram couldn't believe his eyes at the sight he saw. . .
